【摘要】:Blowndensityisusedtodeveloploose-fillcoveragecharts.Dataforblowndensityvsthicknessisusedinthedevelpomentofavariableblowndensitypresentationforloose-fillinsulation.Thermalresistance(andconductivity)ofloose-fillmineralfiberinsulationdependsondensity,thickness.Theresultingblowndensitydataisusefulindevelopinganexpressionforapparentthermalconductivityasafunctionofdensity.Thiswillinturnaidthemanufacturerindevelopingcoverageinformationforpackagesofloose-fillinsulation.Theblowndensityobtainedinthismethodisforthethicknessofthetestonly.Therelationshipofblowndensitywiththicknesscanbedeterminedbyrepeatingtheproceduresoutlinedhereusingdifferentthicknesses.TheseproceduresarenotthesameasthetestmethoddescribedinTestMethodC1374.Dependingonthetestconditionsutilized,theblowndensitymay,ormaynot,representtheinstalleddensityvaluesobtainedbyusingTestMethodC1374.Thisguidecanbeusedtodevelopappropriateblowingmachinesettingstoachieveatargetblowndensityatapredeterminedthickness.1.1Thisguidedescribestwoalternateproceduresfordeterminingblowndensityatapredeterminedthicknessorarangeofthicknessesexpectedinfieldapplicationsofmineralfiberloose-fillinsulation.1.2Thisguideinvolvesblowingasampleofloose-fillinsulationintoatestframeofknownvolume,measuringtheweightoftheinsulationcapturedandcalculatingtheblowndensity.1.3Thisguideisintendedforpneumatically-appliedloose-fillmineralfiberinsulationdesignedforuseinhorizontalopenatticspaces.1.4Thisguideisintendedforproductdesignandproductauditingbymanufacturersofloose-fillinsulation.Thisguideisadaptableasaplantqualitycontrolprocedure.1.5Thisguidedoesnotpredicttheageddensityofthemineralfiberloose-fillinsulation.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesandtodeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.7Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.TheSIunitvaluesgiveninparenthesesareapproximateandareprovidedforinformationonly.
